Constructo Info

  • Founded in 1942, Constructo wooden model ships was a pioneer in its field. Laser-cut technology has since been incorporated to make kit building an easy and enjoyable hobby. The romance of the sea is at your fingertips with every Constructo kit. All kits are complete with quality hardware and fittings (brass, cast iron, ceramic, copper) needed for completion. All models are faithful historical reproductions. Detailed building instructions (with up to 200 colour photos) are included with every kit. Only top-quality woods are used in Constructo kits. Beginner kits have pre-constructed hulls for easy assembly.

  • Junior Series - For younger modellers. These are simple models to start with. Suitable for anyone 10 years or older.

  • 8-Hour Kit Series - Detailed affordable ship kits for all skill levels. These kits can be assembled by anyone, even modellers with no previous building experience. Pre-painted hulls are made of highimpact polystyrene and all other parts are Constructo quality wood and brass.

  • Atlantis Initio series - Atlantis Initio kits are a great introduction to the Atlantis line. The difference between the two ranges is relatively small, as the system and building principles are the same. Both categories feature hulls that require construction and have the same quality level of materials, instructions, etc. The difference is that the boats in the Atlantis Initio line are (as they were in real life) smaller ships than the Atlantis Series ships, without a lot of detail and with simpler hull lines and so are easier to construct.

  • Atlantis Series - Atlantis Series ships feature more details and more difficult hull lines and so are more difficult to make. The wood is laser- or watercut. These plank on frame kits include high quality strip wood & many pre-cut wooden parts, cast and turned metal fittings, rigging, and cloth sails as well as detailed construction plans & written instructions.

  • Universal Series - This range of larger static display boats have pre-shaped solid wood hulls to simplify building - great for modellers without much building experience. The kits include many pre-cut wood parts, cast metal fittings, rigging, sails and wood stand.
